About Us

Years of experience

Overview

Vancouver Internships.ca was founded in 2008 by industry veterans. We put together our company after having worked at other recruitment firms and at ESL schools. The idea was to improve on what we have learned, by being more proactive in achieving customer satisfaction, by being more innovative, and being more economical in our company structure.

Vancouver Internships is the main brand of St. Kits Work and Travel.

St. Kits Work and Travel

Vancouver Internships.ca is a division of St. Kits Work and Travel. St. Kits is our retail brand; it works directly with university students in Europe who are coming to Canada using special internship exchange visas.

St. Kits also does outbound operations, sending Canadians to teach English abroad in Asia, Latin America, and Europe.

We do our best to compliment your services, not compete with them. So, out of respect for our partnerships with Vancouver-area schools we do not take any work and study bookings from abroad, or local direct bookings that may compete with you.

The people behind the company

Vancouver Internships was founded by a small team centred on Robert Jago. Robert is an industry veteran with experience designing and operating work experience programs at many of Canada’s leading schools. He studied at Simon Fraser University, in Vancouver, BC and received his Cambridge Teaching Certification at International House in Cairo, Egypt.

Comprehensive service options

Overview

Having worked in school administration, as well as in outsourcing – we have a unique understanding of what schools are looking for in outsourced services. It breaks down into two broadly drawn categories: Complete Outsourcing and As-Needed Outsourcing. We have services available for each situation. When it comes to immigration agencies, and language travel agencies – the range is a bit broader and includes Project Outsourcing.

Complete outsourcing

This is comprehensive, and ideal for schools without existing internship programs, or with nascent or struggling programs.

Complete outsourcing will see VancouverInternships.ca fully integrated into your school, with our staff conducting Work Preparation Seminars, present for weekly student internship counseling sessions, and working with your marketing staff and web design team to create the collateral to present your internship programs to the world.

And of course – we will be handling all placements for paid and unpaid internships, and casual work programs.

If you currently use an outsourced Homestay Placement Service, or an Activities Service – this will be quite similar to that.

As needed outsourcing

This is for schools, agencies, or consultancies that may already have an existing program.

They don’t necessarily need help developing collateral, training marketing staff, or providing seminars. As Needed – means we will step in at your request, whenever you need us.

We can manage all of your placements, or just the difficult ones. We can manage all of your paid placements, while you take care of your unpaid placements on your own.

There is an infinite amount of flexibility available in the As Needed Service. And, as important during this recession – there is no commitment in time or exclusivity and no fixed costs.

Project outsourcing

Do you have a group coming in to Canada for a combined program? Are you looking at university exchange programs? Are you developing a work and travel package?

In each case, we can help you with project outsourcing. Bring us in early and we can help you prepare your bids – together we can develop competitive group pricing.

Whether you’re looking for a supplementary service to your immigration consultancy, you’re going after C-20 visa business, or bringing in 50 Japanese Working Holidaymakers – whatever the case, VancouverInternships.ca is there to help.

Our current placement capacity is 40 interns per week – meaning that we can provide a top level of service to any group of up to 80 at a given time.
